It was 7 years ago as i graduated at the School of Art and New Media (F&F) in Zurich. And this is one of the paintings that was shown at the final school exhibition.
It was the last time i worked with traditional media. I remember the smell of the colors, the dirt on my hands and jazz playing all the time in our studio. I remember the joy and inspiration spent on this painting. There were no adjustment layers, no curves, no filters. And no ctrl+Z.
After that, i didn't paint or draw for years. And then, one year ago, i worked on a music video and had to make digital backgrounds. I started working with wacom and photoshop and meanwhile, i spend most of my time on the concept art and matte painings. Never getting dirty and never smelling the hypnotical oil colors.
So i put this painting here just to remind myself (and probably many others) how beautifull it was, taking the REAL brush, soaking it into creamy paint, getting dirty and listen to the jazz while everyone else is already sleeping.
Best regards,
Khan
